Deputy of the State Duma Vladimir Klimenko is ready to submit this strategy for consideration and further development as amendments may be necessary”, claimed V. Yakunin in his address to the Representative Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far East Viktor Ishayev during the Assembly of railwaymen in Khabarovsk.

JSC “RZD” President stated that in the crisis year traffic volume on the Far Eastern Railway increased by 30% in spite of the general volume decrease. Earlier Viktor Ishayev said that “Baikal-Amur Railway – 2” construction may cost 800 billion roubles. JSC “RZD” supported this project implementation at the meeting devoted to the issues of the Baikal-Amur Railway zone development.
Regional administration in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, JSC “RZD”, companies interested in cargo traffic and potential investors prepared grounding for the railway development. Besides, agreement on creation of executive committee consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia, Representatives of the President in the Far Eastern and Siberian Federal Districts, federal subjects’ governments and interested organizations for working out initiatives concerning the programme for development of the Baikal-Amur Railway surrounding territories, was achieved.
