Georgian enterprises got an order of 150 millions of GEL as a result of railway modernization project

Nowadays works of Georgian Railway modernization project - “Fast Railway - from Batumi to Tbilisi in 3 hours” are already started towards “Rikoti” pass direction.

New railway of 500 meters length will be made on Samtredia-Kopitnari section. Old wooden sleepers will be changed by new reinforced-concrete construction railway. Fast railway project has being now implementing on Samtredia section, in order to start works on “Rikoti” pass as soon as possible. This is the most difficult and the most important section on the whole railway and travel time decrease by three times is actually depended on it.

In order to guarantee the mentioned construction, Georgian Railway made an order of 150 millions of GEL to Georgian factories and enterprises working in Georgia. These are: Akhaltsikhe Sleeper Plant, Zestaponi, Kutaisi and Sviri Plants, road metal plant, Tbilisi Reinforced-Concrete Sleepers Plant, rails strengthening and carriage-building plants.

As you know, priority of Georgian Railway is to support and develop Georgian enterprises. This order shall give opportunity to Georgian enterprises to develop their production, equip it and create new vacant jobs throughout the country.
