Buryatia opens flight connection with China

Republic of Buryatia is opening direct flight connection with Chinese territory of Manchuria, reports the source.

The flight Ulan-Ude - Manchuria with possible continuation to Tianjin has been already coordinated with the Chinese administration. The company for carrying out this flight is already known, the date of beginning the service is under definition.

Now the airport of Ulan-Ude serves the only one international regular Ulan-Ude - Ulanbaator (Mongolia), which was opened this summer. The flight takes place one time a week. The airport could serve charter flights only until recently: because of technological capacity it could not receive international flights. In 2009 the problem was solved.

This problem is rather typical for the Russian provincial airports, which are tied rather with Moscow, which can be very far from them, than with the neighboring regions of abroad. Moreover, train services are still very actual for many Russian regions.
