TransContainer may spend 1,6 billion roubles for purchasing carriages by 2011

According to operator’s quaterly report JSC “TransContainer” plans to direct 1,6 billion roubles (excluding VAT) by the end of 2010 for purchasing fitting platforms.

Besides, “TransContainer” plans to invest about 660 mln roubles in terminal modernization.

As it was previously reported, “TransContainer” investment program for 18,1 billion roubles for 2010-2012 was adopted. This money will be allocated for optimization of asset profiles, for the growth of asset competitiveness and strengthening the company’s market position.

2,1 billion roubles will be spent to modernize and enlarge the park of high-capacity containers due to growth of international intermodal transportation. About 5,5 billion more roubles will be directed in 2010 – 2012 for renovation of terminal capacity and equipment.

“TransContainer” reports that in January – June 2010 its share in the market of railway container transportation has decreased by 7,2% compared to the same period in 2009, to 52,2%. “Decrease of the share in 2010 is caused by the price adjustment carried out in 2009 and aimed at raising profitability,” explains the company.
