Russia may hike up oil export duty

Experts working on the Russian oil and gas market believe that the country's oil export duty will climb 6 percent to $268.9 per tonne starting April 1, 2010.

By the same token, the export duties on light and heavy oil products will be set at $193.5 per tonne and $104.2 per tonne, respectively. Experts made the forecast based on the monitoring of global prices for oil and the provisions of the law on the customs tariff.

Meanwhile, representative of the Russian Finance Ministry Alexander Sakovich told RBC that the average oil price stood at $75.52 per barrel between February 15 and March 14 according to the monitoring report.
