Russian Railways JSC fulfilled its obligations regarding the construction of railway infrastructure in the Baikal region and Skovorodino in the Far East, said Vladimir Yakunin, Head of RZD on Saturday at a meeting on the implementation of investment programs, held by the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

Head of RZD said that the state monopoly invested more than RUR 14 billion in Zabaikalsk.

Speaking about the project in Skovorodino, Mr Yakunin recalled that the main task was to develop the railway station and to upgrade the railroad, and it was done.

Reconstruction of the Skovorodino station Transbaikalia was carried out in the framework of the project "Construction of the pipeline system from Eastern Siberia to the Pacific Ocean for transportation of oil to the promising market of the Asia-Pacific region”.

"I talked with the Head of Transneft recently. This company does not have claims to the railway," said Mr Yakunin.

He acknowledged that there were occasional problems with oil transportation at the Far East, because tank wagons were idling at ports. In particular, Rosneft complained that there was not enough rolling stock. However, he said, this problem was solved.
