Gazprom and Itochu in talks over Far East gas pipes

Gazprom and Japan’s pipe makers consortium, Itochu Corporation, are in talks over cooperation in the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas pipeline project, Russia’s gas monopoly said.

Financials for the prospective cooperation have yet to be announced.

According to Gazprom, Phase 1 of the Far East gas shipment project has been scheduled for completion for Q3 2011.
