Georgia to offer the transit corridor for supplies of Kazakh grains to Egypt

Egypt and Kazakhstan will possibly become interested in transit potential of Georgia, declared Nikoloz Gilauri, the Premier-Minister of Georgia.According to Irakliy Ezugbay, the head of Georgia railway lines, Georgia is ready to offer own transit territory to Egypt for imports of commodities from Kazakhstan.
To date, Kazakhstan transits own commodities to Egypt through the territory of Russia. But Georgia is ready to provide lower transit tariff, explained to I.Ezugbay. According to him, drawing of transit cargoes from Kazakhstan will bring additional earnings to the budget of Georgia.
As a reminder, previously Mamytbekov Asylzhan Sarybayevich, the chairman of executive board of JSC National holding "KazAgro", declared about plans of Kazakhstan to supply 1.5 mln tonnes of grains to Egypt in 2010.
