Russian GDP Shrank Approx 8.8% in January

Russian GDP shrank 8.8% year-on-year in January, Interfax reports referring to source at a profile agency.

Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina earlier said GDP fell 2.4% in January 2009 compared with December 2008.
