20.96% of Severnaya Verf Handed over to Northern Center of Shipbuilding

20.96% of shipbuilding plant Severnaya Verf has been transferred to authorized capital of Northern Center of Shipbuilding OJSC by Federal Property Management Agency (RosImushchestvo).

Northern Center of Shipbuilding OJSC is a subholding of the United Shipbuilding Corporation established by the order No 394 of RF President on 21 March 2007, PortNews reports.

MMC Norilsk Nickel and Nordic Yards sign contract for construction of arctic tanker

In accordance with the decision made by its Management Board, OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter - MMC Norilsk Nickel or the Company) has signed a contract with German Nordic Yards Holding GmbH (hereinafter - Nordic Yards) to build an Arctic-class tanker Arc7. The vessel is expected to be built and delivered by the end of September 2011.

According to the preliminary data, in February 2010 the tariffs on freight transportation by all transport modes in Russia increased on average by 0.8% as compared to January 2010, reported Russian State Statistics Service. In January-February 2010, the growth of tariffs amounted to 26.2%.
