Port of Tallinn Breaks Ground for New Container Terminal

State owned Port of Tallinn has started preparations for building a new container terminal.

“The first phase will cost EEK 861 million and include development of 27 hectares of terminal area, 385 metres of new quays and extending an existing quay by 100 metres,” Ain Kaljurand, CEO of Port of Tallinn, said.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the autumn 2010 and the container terminal should open for business in May 2011, Baltic Business News reports.
