02.10.2008 (16:33)

The Memorandum of Understanding on joining the Marco Polo program was signed between Croatia and the European Union.

It is intended for fostering cargo transport by sea, rivers and railways, Railway Market-CEE Review reported referring to the European Commission announcement on Wednesday.

The Memorandum was signed by EC’s Transport Commissioner Antonio Tajani and Croatian ambassador to EU Branko Baricevic. After Croatia ratifies the Memorandum, Croatian carriers will be able to apply their projects for financing from the Marco Polo program.
