Kryukov and Ukrspecvagon to Supply 475 Rail Cars to Ukrzaliznytsya

Kryukov Railway Car Building Works and Ukrspecvagon will supply UZ 475 rail cars for USD 48m.

Kryukov company will produce 300 pieces, for USd 30m, the rest will be supplied by Ukrspecvagon, Railway Market-CEE Review reports.

Ukrzaliznyitsya in 2008 plans to purchase 4 thousand freight cars. The department press-service informs On it.

For 5 months of a current year according to an accounting budget railways of Ukraine purchase 186 cargo semicars of production GP "Darnitsky car-repair factory", GP "Stryjsky car-repair factory" and GP "the Ukrainian centre on operation of specialised cars". In particular 95 units has received Donetsk and 91 – Pridneprovsky railways.

UZ informed that till 2015 it will invest EUR 17 billion in new rolling stock and infrastructure upgrades.

Today the rolling stock deterioration makes 85 %. Besides, capacities in the country, even in the presence of financing, cannot satisfy inquiries of department. "In Ukraine catastrophically there is no carload moulding and today not a rare case when the constructed cars stand in a queue because under them there are no wheel pairs", - the deputy of the general director UZ Victor Chernyj has declared earlier.

In department also marked, what exactly the deterioration of a rolling stock and a railway infrastructure brake growth of transit of consignments. At the same time “Ukrzaliznyitsya” plans to increase this year transit of consignments by 8,7 % - to 75m tonnes.
