General Electric to Build Locomotive Factory in Serbia

Mladan Dinkic, Deputy Prime Minister said the representatives of General Electric are interested in building a locomotive factory in Serbia and modernization of Serbian Railways.

Mladan Dinkic, Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development and Serbian President Boris Tadic participated at Global Investment Conference at Harvard, New York.

General Electric representatives are going to visit Serbia in mid-October. After investment symposium in Harvard Club, we met with one of American giants General Electric. They are interested in building a factory of locomotives and in working on modernization of Serbian Railways’, said Dinkic. According to him, General Electric intends to look for suppliers for the locomotive factory among Serbian companies.

Dinkic said Serbia was presented as the most attractive country for manufacturing products intended for export. ‘Government incentives for investments in car, electronic and IT industries were presented to world investors, Railway Market-CEE Review reports.
