The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviation) will suspend the operational certificates of three companies incorporated in the AiRUnion alliance, Atlant-Soyuz airline General Director Alexei Menitsky told journalists."DAL [Domodedovo Airline], Samara [Airlines] and KrasAir will fly using their own codenames until September 30. On September 30, the operational certificates of these companies will be suspended in line with a Rosaviation decision," he said according to Interfax.
Atlant-Soyuz has assumed the obligation to transport AiRUnion's passengers under a government decision.
Atlant-Soyuz will inherit AiRUnion's entire route network, Menitsky said. "Next week, the route network will be reassigned to Atlant-Soyuz," he said.
Asked whether Atlant-Soyuz will absorb AiRUnion's fleet, Menitsky said at least part of this fleet is likely to be transferred to Atlant- Soyuz. "We need to look at the aircraft's technical condition, and we won't use the entire fleet. In the future, we will start planning a new fleet," he said.
