Azeri State Oil Company Triples Exports

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) nearly tripled oil exports through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline to 12.5m tonnes in January-August 2008 compared to 4.2m tonnes in the same period a year earlier.

While oil was not transported by railway to the Georgian Black Sea port Batumi in July and August, its transportation via this route reached some 245,800 tonnes in the first half of 2008 against roughly 221,300 tonnes in the same period of 2007, reports RBC.
