Rosneft, Surgutneftegas Withdraw Hydrocarbon Deposit Bids

Rosneft and Surgutneftegas have withdrawn their auction bids for the development of hydrocarbon deposits in the Irkutsk region, Vladimir Nazaryev, head of Irkutsknedra, the regional agency for the use of subsurface resources, said.

The auctions have been scheduled for today. Rosneft, which had submitted bids for two deposits, declined to comment on its decision to pull out of the auctions. Meanwhile, Surgutneftegas, which had planned to vie for one of the deposits, said that it had reconsidered buying new licenses and intended to focus on the development of those deposits that it already had, reports RBC.
