01.08.2008 (12:29)

Czech rolling stock fleet will face a major renewal this year.

The company decalred intention to buy abroad 100 used passenger cars for CZK 250m, Railway Market-CEE Review reports.

The modernised cars will have the classic green-white paint.

Although the deal was not yet signed, CD already tested a car provided by DB on the test circuit in Cerhenicí.

- With the results we obtained, we will be very happy to sign the agreement till the end of the year - CD spokesman, Ondrej Kubala said.

CD seeks upgraded cars for domestic intercity routes, epecially on Prague - Moravia links.

The cars are higher class, with comfortable seats, closed-circuit toliets, though they lack air-conditioning.
