Estonian rail company Edelaraudtee that restored its rail freight operations in May, is struggling with lack of locomotives and the clients cannot carry enough goods at the demanded speed. The most important clients of Edelaraudtee are still the metal waste manager Kusuakoski, forage and fertilizer producer Farm Plant, sawn timber first buyer AS Lignator and also the colored metal waste manager OÜ Refonda, Baltic Business News reports.
Edelaraudtee’s manager Kalvi Pukka complained that the company is facing difficulties in filling clients’ orders.
“We don’t have a special park of cargo locomotives. Therefore we mainlyuse the locomotives of the general park. The decrease in freight has slowed down the circulation of locomotives and the situations, where we don’t have enough locomotives, have become frequent,” Pukka said.
According to him, also the work’s effectiveness is suffering.
