Czech oil refiner Unipetrol won a contract to supply diesel worth CZK 8 billion (USd 549.5m) to state-owned Czech Railways.

Unipetrol's subsidiary Paramo will delivery around 290m litres of the fuel over the next three years, Railway Market-CEE Review reports.

Unipetrol, majority-owned by Poland's PKN Orlen, said it beat state-run fuel distributor Cepro and MOL's MOLB.BU Slovak unit Slovnaft for the contract.

Unipetrol has been supplying Czech Railways since 2003.
