30.06.2008 (13:45)

National rail operator České dráhy (ČD) will be fined for abuse of dominant position in cargo transport, Office for the Protection of Economic Competition (ÚOHS) chairman Martin Pecina said, adding the fine could reach hundreds of millions of crowns.

ÚOHS is now preparing the decision and considering the amount of the fine. ČD will comment on the case after it receives an official decision from ÚOHS, said ČD Cargo spokeswoman Simona Hradilová. ČD Cargo is in charge of cargo transport within the state-run ČD group. ÚOHS will make a decision in July, Railway Market-CEE Review reports.
