Locomotive Crashes into the Central Railway Station in Tallinn

A locomotive pulling an empty passenger train was unable to come to full stop and crashed into the platform of the Central Railway Station in Tallinn (Estonia) yesterday.Postimees writes that the accident was fortunate since the Tallinn-Moscow train was empty and was only arriving to pick up passengers for the 17.10 departure.
The locomotive crushed a BMW that had been wrongly parked near the platform and stopped less than a metre from the station building.
Go Group that operates the Moscow-Tallinn passenger train service was unable to say what was the reason for the accident. The company’s press spokesperson said yesterday that it may have been caused because of technical failure.
