Finnish Rail Official to Meet Business Leaders in St. Petersburg

The 12th International Economic Forum to be held in St. Petersburg on June 6-8 is an important platform to exchange experience and plans for the future, the president of Finnish rail company VR Group Ltd. said according to RIA Novosti."During the forum, I hope to get a better idea of the current economic and social development of Russia and also about the country's prospects," Henri Kuitunen said.
Kuitunen intends to meet with representatives of business groups that are of interest to him and VR Group.
"The exchange of experience and ideas is always important and fruitful for future cooperation," Kuitunen said.
The Russian market is developing positively, he said. "Developments in the Russian economy are especially active and solid today. This creates major opportunities for Russian partners as well."
"Our cooperation with Russian Railways is open and constructive. In the past few years, this cooperation has been given a boost in many areas. Today, perhaps, the largest joint project is the work to create regular high-speed rail communication between Helsinki and Petersburg, which will start after 2011," Kuitunen said.
