MMK Hikes Steel Production

Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) boosted its steel production 10.8 percent to 4.753m tonnes in the first four months of 2008 compared to the same period a year earlier.

MMK's steel products output amounted to 4.346m tonnes in January-April 2008, which is 10 percent greater than in the same months in 2007. Pig iron production climbed 10.1 percent to 3.434m tonnes and rolled steel production went up 11 percent to 4.6m tonnes, RBC reports.
