The first International Conference

The event will be held within the framework of the “United RUSSIA” Party Project “St.Petersburg – the sea capital of RUSSIA” and will attract attention of the Russia’s and the world community to the problems of water supplies pollution.
The main themes of the conference are the development of international cooperation on environmental issues in the Baltic, Black, Caspian seas’ basins and in the Sea of Japan’s, the trans-border rivers pollution, influence of shelf development and active use of the Northern Sea Route on the situation in the Arctic zone. The event's participants will also discuss the prospects of environmental legislation improving in the field of waste handling services, the questions of evaluation and elimination of accumulated environmental damage, etc.
Chief executives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia and the agencies under the Ministry, as also the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, members of environmental associations, unions and many others have been invited to take part in the conference. The participation of representatives of governments, heads of major industrial, bunker and freight logistics companies, port authorities from more than 30 regions of Russia is planned. Representatives from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Turkey, Iran, China, Kazakhstan, Japan, the United States and Canada will also become the delegates of the conference.
