Technical requirements for advertising materials
FORMAT
1) Full page
A) If an advertising module should have white margins, its size must be not less than 230 x 300 mm. There should be left not less than 5 mm from each edge for margins, or model centering on the page will be difficult to achieve. That is why the size of a model will be 220 mm x 290 mm.
B) If an advertising module is going to be bled off, could you please add 5mm to each side, for cutting this area, i.e. model size is to be 240 mm X 310 mm. PLEASE, don't place any important information on this cutting area.
2. Size of 1/2 of advertising page
Size of advertising module: 200 mm (width) x 130 mm (height)
Size of advertising module: 100 mm (width) x 260 mm (height)
3. Size of 1/4 of advertising page
Size of advertising module: 100 mm (width) x 130 mm (height)
Attention:
1. 15 mm should be left for a binding edge
2. Advertising materials of other sizes are accepted ONLY after getting the permission of magazine's technical staff.
FILES
(requirements for advertising materials presented as electronic files)
We can accept your advertising materials as electronic files on floppy disk till the appointed deadline.
1. We accept all files, made with using the following programmes:
IBM PC:
Quark XPress 3.32, 4.04; Adobe Illustrator 6.0-9.0;
Adobe Photoshop 5.0-6.0; Adobe PageMaker 6.5
Attention:
Advertising materials made with usage of other programmes are accepted only after getting the permission of magazine's technical staff.
2. Requirements for files. You should supply a file of advertising page model, made in accordance with the requirements of the part "Format".
2.1. QuarkXPress: The make up file, all images and fonts, used in advertising page should be supplied. All colours of inner elements of advertising page should be fixed according to CMYK colour model.
2.2. Adobe PageMaker: The make up file, all images and fonts, used in advertising page should be supplied. All colours of inner elements of advertising page should be fixed according to CMYK colour model.
2.3. Adobe Illustrator: The make up file and fonts, used in advertising page should be supplied. If some elements of advertising page are not imported to make up file, you must supply them separately. Transfer of all font elements into curves is admitted. It this case giving of fonts is not required. The number of knots for vector elements shouldn't be more than 1024. For all vector elements should be made resultant output 2540 dpi (Adobe Illustrator parameter Attributes->Output).
2.4. Halftone coloured and black-and-white (GrayScale) images: Halftone images used in make up of advertising pages should be done in TIFF or EPS format. Successful resolution (taking into accounts scaling in make up file) is not less than 300 dpi. Coloured model is CMYK. Using of inner algorithms of compression the halftone images is not allowed.
2.5. Halftone black-and-white one-bit (Bitmap) images: black-and-white images used in make up of advertising pages should be in TIFF or EPS format. Successful resolution (counting scaling in make up file) is not less than 800 dpi. Using of inner algorithms of compression the halftone images is not allowed.
3. You can send your files on:
Magnetic optic disk 3.5 inches, capacity 128 Mb, 230 Mb, 640 Mb, 1.3 Gb
CD ROM
Your disks should be sent in accordance with item 1 of the clause "Delivery".
4. You can send your files to us using e-mail: rzdp@om-express.ru
In this case you should pack all necessary files in one archive and add this archive to your electronic letter. In the letter you should point the name of a firm-advertiser, name and surname of magazine's manager, who works with you, of advertising page maker's contact telephone numbers as well as people to contact.
5. You can send you files to our FTP server. The address is ftp://ftp.rzd-partner.ru/ In order to get login and password for access to ftp contact our magazine's technical staff by electronic mail. The address is webmaster@rzd-partner.ru.
Using this way you should pack all necessary files in one archive. Please, use the folder "upload" and after successful sending files inform us about it by electronic mail, the address is rzdp@om-express.ru.
Sending files by e-mail of FTP it is necessary to make a sample of your advertising page using Adobe Acrobat and send to us corresponding PDF file with your advertising files.

DELIVERY
(information for sending advertising materials)
1. Advertising materials should be sent by registered letter or by commercial couriers. Please, define customs value of cargo in US $. Our publishing house "OM-Express" and business magazine "RZD-Partner" can't take your cargo from customs and pay all customs fees. Please, send packing papers to addressee by fax (written below) to follow the cargo.
2. Sending package should contain a detailed covering letter in English or in Russian with stated name of the firm-advertiser in accordance with a contract; advertising page maker's contact telephone numbers and people to contact coordinates; and coloured and black-and-white printings of advertising page, printed in scale 1:1 by printer.
